Ricky really likes cats since he’s been surrounded by them (probably) his whole life, and feeding them is the one of the only times he can bond with the closest people to him.. so he imagines a place where humans are cats who actually like him, and are like him. he wants to change what humans are like because he’s never truly connected to one. and since he wants them all to like him, he envisions himself as this sort of anime protagonist, who everyone falls in love with.
it’s sort of like having a Mary sue oc that you selfship with your favorite character.
Another note; he’s said to like dragon ball Z and Pokémon, which are both animes in which the protagonist is unreasonably powerful and hardly ever loses anything if ever. Ocean could just be stereotyping but based on Ricky’s song they both seem to his taste
